Overview

Obstetrics are usually the branches of medicine that undertake the care of women during the times of pregnancy and childbirth, and also specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the female reproductive organs. Other women’s health issues such as menopause, hormone problems, contraception, and infertility are also dealt with in these branches. In short, it is called OB/GYN.

The major difference between these two departments is that Obstetrics revolves around the care during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, whereas Gynaecology is involved with the care of reproductive health and the functions and diseases that are exclusive to women and girls.

Painless Delivery

The biggest fear of every woman being a mother is Labour pain. At Aksha Hospitals Gynaecological care, all the mothers who are expecting a delivery will be explained the benefits of going for an Epidural Assisted–Painless delivery. A procedure that involves a simple step of injecting in the lower back that is connected to a small tube called an Epidural Catheter. This catheter tube helps in drug infusion that provides a painless delivery. Anaesthesia doctor decides on dosage as per pain sensitivity of the delivering woman.

Painless Delivery undergoes labour without having to experience major pain, and this is also the natural way to give birth. Epidural anaesthesia helps the mothers in having a normal delivery without pain and is considered the most favoured method of relieving pain during labour.

Advantages of Painless Delivery:

  • Epidural Anaesthesia gives help from the pain and hence mother and child can be comfortable.
