Preparation Before Hospital Visit

Having all the documents ready either for diagnostic purposes or for the consultation, the required documents are needed to be carried.

If the diagnosis is accurately established, then the patient’s description of the symptom’s nature, location, time, and duration can be of utmost help during the examination.

Presenting the patient’s & family’s medical history in a brief manner can help the doctor diagnose in a logical way.

The patient should be prepared to pose the following questions to the doctor:

  • What is the cause of my disease (condition)?
  • How serious is my disease (condition) and how will it affect my personal and work life?
  • What tests can be done to diagnose my problem? When will I know the test’s results?
  • Do I need a follow-up visit and if so, when?
  • What are my treatment options?
  • What are the risks (side-effects) of my treatment option?
  • If my symptoms get worse, what can I do?
